Dear Dharma friends, Between 29 – 31 December 2023, the Gelugpa Monlam (the Gelugpa Prayer Festival) will take place in Bodhgaya, Bihar, India. His Holiness the Great 14th Dalai Lama will also be present and will be giving teachings and empowerments then to the members of the Sangha.

We have received a request for sponsorship from some Tibetan Buddhist Monasteries and Nunneries in Nepal and India, whose Sangha wish to travel to Bodhgaya for this important event, which takes place during the 2 months annual leave period for the monks and nuns, and during which they often undertake further practices such as prostrations and prayers at the holy site. It is challenging for members of the Sangha to travel there because they lack funds for transport and sustenance. Therefore, help from benefactors would be most appreciated.

For anyone who wishes to take this chance to practise in the paramita (perfection) of generosity, the Centre is hoping to support 80 members of the Sangha. Just for reference, a sponsorship of SGD100 would be enough to enable one member of the Sangha to undertake a round trip. We rejoice in your gifts of generosity, and if anyone wishes to extend help to the Sangha on this occasion, please do not hesitate to contact us. Any funds remitted electronically should bear the reference “Gelugpa Monlam”.
