Sponsorship for the Centre’s Most Secret Hayagriva statue – Online Registration

As some of you are aware, the protector deity Most Secret Hayagriva (Tib: Tamdrin Yangsang, Chi: 马头明王观音） holds a very special place in the hearts of all alumni of Sera Jey Monastic University, including our kind and learned teacher Geshe Lama Konchok. The lineage which we have inherited was brought into our Gelugpa tradition via the founder and first abbot of Sera Jey, the Ven Jetsun Kunkhen Lodroe Rinchen Senge, who had been born into a Nyingmapa family, and who had received the unbroken lineage of tantric empowerments and practice of this deity from his father. That lineage traces its way all the way back to Guru Rinpoche, who was himself an accomplished practitioner of the Tamdrin Yangsang tantras.

It is therefore with great joy that Geshe la wishes to announce the imminent arrival from Nepal of a 36 inch high statue of Tamdrin Yangsang. By some divine coincidence, this image which we have commissioned for the Centre was made by the very same craftsman who had fashioned the statue of Tamdrin Yangsang which now sits in the shrine in Sera Jey in India that is dedicated to the propitiation of Tamdrin Yangsang.

The statue is likely to make its way to Singapore in advance of the lunar new year next year and we pray for all auspicious conditions for the planned consecration and its journey to Singapore.

All friends and members of the Centre are cordially invited, if they so wish, to contribute to the costs of the image, its consecration items (zung) and transportation costs, including costs of a special casing to house the resplendent image. The total costs are estimated to be in the region of SGD 15,000 and no contribution is too small, nor should anyone feel at all obliged to have to contribute.

We pray that all friends and members in the Centre and beyond will benefit from the blessings of Tamdrin Yangsang and may all sentient beings have happiness and its causes, and abiding auspicious conditions.
