Zambhala Bathing Ceremony 2016, 23 July 2016

Zambhala Bathing Ceremony 2016Milk and water offering to Zambhala Statue

The legend said that while the Buddha was teaching the Maha Prajna-Paramita Sutra, the jealous Devadatta threw rocks at him. The Zambhala (Wealth god) appeared in front of the Buddha to shield him from the rocks. The rocks hit and injured the Zambhala. The Buddha then came over to the Zambhala, and from his hand flow out white nectar of wisdom and compassion onto the head of Zambhala. This white nectar blessed and healed the Zambhala. The grateful Zambhala bowed to thank the Buddha.

The Buddha then said to Zambhala, “As I have healed you with this holy nectar, in the future should any of my students or my student’s students invoke your powers and pour water onto your head, bestow them with material wealth and spiritual wealth, more importantly spiritual wealth.” The Zambhala agreed and promised to do so.

Maha Tare Buddhist Centre will be conducting the Zambhala Bathing Ceremony by offering water, milk and other items to the Zambhala to pray for wealth blessings. So please come and join us for this meritorious event. No prior registration is required for this event.
