This is to confirm that one of our three visiting Tantric monks, Geshe Lobzang Nandak, has been hospitalised after suffering from a stroke on the night of 17 May 2018, just two days prior to the start of our Vesak Day event – Vesak 2018 @ Waterloo Street: Amitabha Buddha Sand Mandala Ritual from 19 May to 30 May 2018.
Geshe Lobzang Nandak
He is one of the senior monks from the Gyudmed Tantric University, which is one of the only two Buddhist Tantric University in India that focuses on the study of tantra. Over the years whenever he is being invited to our Centre, he has helped so many of us through his sincere prayers and blessings and we are extremely grateful for that.

We have set up a facebook event page on the 21 May to raise funds for his medical expenses. Over the past one week, we have received overwhelming donations from our members and the public totalling about $120k. On behalf of our Centre, Geshe Lobzang Nandak and the Gyudmed Tantric University, we would like to thank all donors for their kind support and contribution.
Donation Drive Officially Closed
We are also pleased to announce that this donation drive is now officially closed, and we have stopped receiving donations as of 28 May. We are currently in the midst of tabulating the donors’ list and reconciling the donation receipts. The collected funds will be used to pay off his hospitalisation bills, rehabilitation and post-rehabilitation expenses. We will be releasing more information from time to time through our Whatsapp group chat and our facebook event page.
Prayers and Donation from Gyudmed Tantric University
We are informed of prayers conducted and donation collection by over 500 monks from the Gyudmed Tantric University held on 27 May for the speedy recovery of Geshe Lobzang Nandak.
Medicine Buddha Puja for Geshe Lobzang Nandak
Our Centre will be conducting the Medicine Buddha Puja session to pray for the speedy recovery of Geshe Lobzang Nandak. There will be special dedication made for the good health of all donors and supporters during the puja. The name list of all donors will be displayed for the dedication.
