On the 12th December 2017 makes the death anniversary of Je Tsongkhapa, the founder of Gelugpa lineage tradition. This year in particular, is the year of the Fire Bird in the Tibetan Lunar calendar, which happens to coincide with His Eminence Lama Tsongkhapa’s birth sign. The Tibetan calendar operates with a 60-year cycle, hence it is a rare opportunity that is hard to come by.
On this day, devotees would practice Dharma with offerings and prayers to accumulate merits which is said to have a multiplying effect. For us, Maha Tare Buddhist Centre will be organising a Guru Puja prayer and offering session on this auspicious occasion. We sincerely welcome everyone to join us for the prayers.
