Due to the COVID-19 situation, our Jungwa Rituals originally scheduled to take place @ Waterloo Street will now take place at our Centre’s premises instead @ 512A Sims Avenue. This special tantric ritual aimed at eradication of all obstacles that block the path of our deceased parents, relatives, friends and other sentient beings. It also applied to all the living. For individuals who wish to seek blessings of good health and good wealth, as well as the removal of life obstacles at work or in our daily life, clearing of karmic debts (past and present).

Today marks the day of Qing Ming or the Tomb Sweeping Festival. We have carried out and concluded the Jungwa Ritual, dedicating merits to everyone who registered with us and also to our country Singapore and beyond. Before next Tuesday arrives when everyone will have to stay home, I wanted to remind everyone that the blessings of the Buddha and Boddhisattva will remain with you regardless of wherever you are. They are not dependent upon geography, much less are they curtailed by lack of proximity to any place of worship. I would therefore strongly advise everyone to comply fully with the government’s advisory and take this one month period as a time for reflection, rest, and spending more time with your families. With every cloud, there is always a silver lining. May the light of the Thousand Buddhas of the Fortunate Aeon shine through and take us into a new era and a safer country and world, and I pray that the war against the COVID-19 can be won as quickly as possible.

18 April 2020
While the Qing Ming Festival fell on 4 April and prayers for both the living and the departed had started 2 weeks before on 21 March, I have been continuing prayers throughout this period and today marks the day on which the concluding prayers will be offered. Throughout this entire time, while our secondee lamas from Gyumed Tantric College have not been able to make their way to Singapore, they have joined me in performing these rituals remotely in real time. May I invite everyone who submitted the names to whom the prayers are dedicated to join me in dedicating these merits today as we pray for the well being of all of you and your loved ones, and all sentient beings. May we rejoice in these virtuous actions and may the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic come to pass as soon as possible.
