This year’s 8 day Jungwa ritual will be held at the open field next to Stamford Arts Centre located between Waterloo Street and Middle Road. Starting on 12 April 2019 to 19 April 2019 from 9am to 6pm daily, Geshe Konchok Lama and qualified tantric monks from the Gyudmed Tantric Monastery will chant prayers of the Medicine Buddha, the Buddha Vajrabhairava (Yamantaka) and the Amitabha Buddha.
Jungwa ritual
Jungwa is a special Tantric ritual aimed at eradication of all obstacles that block the path of our deceased parents, relatives, friends and other sentient beings. It helps clear the path of release for those deceased beings, whose spirits are languishing in some unfavorable and lesser states of Samsara. The ritual involves series of Tantric visualisation and transformation, whereby special ceremony in which prayers are offered to the Buddhas to request their blessings and invoke their help to provide spirits complete release from their dead states and find the path leading to Nirvana. Therefore, this ritual not only seeks to provide protection to humans but also help ghosts and spirits to be reborn in better states.
