Palden Lhamo Puja 2020, 10 Feb 2020

In the light of increased concerns over the coronavirus situation worldwide and in Singapore, the Centre shall be carrying out a special Palden Lhamo Puja on Monday, 10 Feb 2020 at 8pm. Palden Lhamo (Shri Devi 吉祥天母) is a wrathful deity and also the only female among the Eight Guardians of the Dharma, who had sworn to Lord Buddha to protect the Dharma. Amongst the implements that she carries is a bag of diseases which is used to contain all negativities that cause plagues and epidemics, which she swiftly removes. In places where Vajrayana Buddhism is practised, many have witnessed how, following prayers to Palden Lhamo, people struck by sudden illnesses have recovered quickly, and been under her protection. During these times, and to err on the side of caution, attendance at the Puja will not be necessary and is optional. Members and friends can simply provide names and contact details of those to whom merits should be dedicated, and to provide them to the Centre. These will be placed in a special container which will form part of the ritual during the Puja. Offerings of fruits and flowers can be brought to the Centre at any time to your convenience. I continue to pray for the relief of all beings suffering from the virus and its effects, and all those adversely affected by it. May all sentient beings be free from pain and suffering. 🙏 Geshe Lama Konchok
